MORRIS RACING
Morris Racing (formally known as Dimetrious Jr. Racing) is an organization that is seeking funding for participation in the 2010 and 2011 NHRA O’ Reilly Auto Parts Drag Racing League Season.
The mission of Morris Racing is to bridge the gap between urban youth and the Motor Sports Industry through personal and professional achievement via mass media. Located in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, less than a mile from the heart of Philadelphia, the company intends to expand, and further spread motivation for low to medium income families to participate in, and view the sport of drag racing.
So far we have made regular appearances at ATCO Speed Raceway in New Jersey, Cecil County, MD, and has even been as far as Darlington, SC to make test runs with our car. We Under our former banner we have appeared on the following local broadcast television stations within the Philadelphia region: “6ABC, FOX 29, NBC 10 and Comcast Sportsnet.” We have also appeared in over 25 different newspapers. Throughout our Drag Racing career, we have won over thirty trophies, and continues to do so with each event.
Dimetrious Morris was a guest speaker at the Child’s Elementary school in 2006, located at 17th and Reed in Philadelphia. Within the same year he was invited to Fort Washington, Maryland to ride in the Homeless Children’s Parade organized by the Bikers with Heart association. They are a group of people who, among other things, provide help for disadvantaged youths and their families. In 2007, he also appeared at the Franklin Institute in Center City, Philadelphia as part of the NASCAR weekend; displaying his car and signing autographs. In May of 2008 he is scheduled to be a guest speaker at another school, named MOD (Men Of Distinction) in Blackwood NJ.
